The team had an exciting weekend at our first district competition at Plainfield High School. Our robot successfully climbed with a buddy robot, and we made it to the playoffs as part of the 8th seed alliance. Our two Dean’s List students, Jessica and Caleb, were interviewed, and Kaylee was much appreciated on the field as a volunteer.

While in the pits we received the Bar Biter award from team 1024 while we were searching for them to deliver the Sweetest Ride award of our own to them. They gave us the Bar Biter award for our robot’s cool climbing while giving a lift to an alliance mate, and they earned our Sweetest Ride award for a robot that always performed cleanly and well.

Our drive team, Garrett, Ethan, Andrew, and Caleb, along with student drive coach, John, did a wonderful job driving the robot in their competition debut of the season, ending the two-day event as the 16th ranked robot on the field. We all look forward to competing again Friday and Saturday, March 30 and 31, at William Henry Harrison High School in West Lafayette. If you want to follow along, here is a printable schedule of the event. If you can’t come in person, you can watch the event broadcast online!
