Here at PhyXTGears, we’ve already made it to week 6! Yet, we are still readily continuing on working through the build-season with only just a few meetings remaining. So here are some things we have been working on:
The media team has been working tirelessly on the Chairman’s Award, an essay and video embodying what we do as a team and our purposes and goals for FIRST. It honors the team that best represents a model for other teams to emulate. However, the essay has been finished and submitted to FIRST while the video will not be submitted until our Chairman’s presentation. Also, they have finished working on the Woodie Flower Award, which recognizes mentors who lead, inspire and empower using excellent communication skills. This year, we have nominated our lead mentor, Mike Koch, for this award.
Meanwhile, the woodworking team has been noisily putting together a replica of the scale for competition to practice our robot on for its efficiency. For the most part, the model is finished and will soon be ready to be used to practice for competition. However, the next thing they will be needing to finish is the model for the switch.
And as for the mechanical team, they, of course, have been busy finishing up our first robot! However, this next coming week, the team will have to stop working on the robot and bag it until our tournaments in the spring. Then once the robot is finished, they will be using the rest of their remaining time working on our second robot.
Wow, this article is good, my younger sister is analyzing these
kinds of things, so I am going to inform her.
