Well, here we are. It’s the end of the fourth week of build season already. Things are really starting to pick up around here as we’re kicking things into high gear. Every one is helping out wherever they can, in the mechanical room or over in the computer lab and electronic room.
We have made some choices, and so far we have a good idea of what our final robot is going to look like. We are going to have a smaller chassis to enable us to fit on to the teeter-totters. The ball pick up/lift system is mostly made out of drive bands. The section at the bottom will spin to bring the balls to the back of the robot, where the ball will hit a roller that will start to bring the ball to the top. At the top of the robot is a four wheeled shooting mechanism. To get the ball up into this mechanism, we are going to use pneumatics.
We still have a lot to do, at least now we know what we need to work on.
